Beautiful. This has reminded me how much I wish I could find a good record of the windows and interiors of the Scottish National War Memorial at Edinburgh Castle. I was blown away when I visited there, but photography isn’t allowed, so I came away with no ability to share what I saw, other than descriptions that can’t do it justice. The building isn’t some little memorial, it’s like a miniature cathedral of commemoration, and the windows there are filled with some of the most stunning stained glass I have ever seen, depictions of the war both literal and symbolic, and so much of it - window upon window upon window, soldiers and naval battles, home front and airships. I cannot find a single decent photo of the interior (there are also some amazing brass reliefs that bear sharing), let alone the windows, and that strikes me as a real shame, the entire place is a true work of art and it shouldn’t be overlooked.
